Astronaut smacks a heckler

A reader sent this video: Buzz Aldrin punches Bart Sibrel after he claims Buzz never walked on the moon.

Good thing that Buzz is not subject to the jurisdiction of the California family court, or he would have to take a 52-week anger management class. I hesitate to even endorse such conduct, or I might have to take the class!

Happy New Year.

newsflash: the class doesn't work.

It doesn't work? I assumed that the class was just a way for the court to get rid of a father for a year. Does it do that?

Penn & Teller investigated anger management on their show (Bullsh*t)... it's worth watching. Great series if you haven't seen it before.

you ask if it gets rid of the father for a year?
well the answer is no. he is still allowed to see them. although with a supervisor. wonder how that happened? some people NEED that anger class - not saying it works at all. but thank gawd it kept their volatile abusive father at bay for 52 pathetic weeks.

No one needs a 52-week anger management class. The 8-week classes are just as effective as the 52-week classes. The only reason for a 52-week class is that a vindictive ex-spouse wants punishment.

You are right. The 52 week program is equally as useless as the 8 week program. And how is it that something court-ordered is because of a vindictive ex rather than because a judge ordered it?

The judge only issues the destructive order after the vindictive ex-spouse requests it. Yes, the judge is also to blame, if that is your point.

Not my experience. My ex was convicted of DV and sentenced to the 52wk program. Didn't help beyond offering him some new language. I didn't ask for it. The judge ordered it. There's not always some vindictive ex or vindictive anyone around.

Please do not deny responsibility for what you did. Family court can only resolve disputes between the parties to the case, and can only order the class if the other party requests it. You must have made some domestic violence complaint that the judge interpreted as a request for your ex to be ordered to take the class. If you did not want the order, you should have said so.

I think when daddy decides to choke mommy in front of kiddos, it kind of gets out of the hands of the family. You don't seem to be terribly informed, and I don't know what responsibility you want me to take for this other than keeping the kids safe. Which, KUDOS TO ME!

maybe I should clarify - the 52wk program was ordered by criminal court - after his DV CONVICTION. now we are just spinning our wheels in family court.
